I have worked in Nursing for 31 years working for Shaw healthcare for 5 years and I love every minute of every day. Every day I still learn something new or research something that I did not know, be it a condition or latest research for an aspect of care delivery. I have a great support network within the wider company, in with my own professional network so I can always obtain the right answers. I have level 5 Safeguarding for Managers course in my portfolio and every aspect of safety for each and every resident underpins all that we do. I pride myself on a home with a good solid team that all know what is expected of them and to this end my guidance ensures that your loved ones are well cared for and safe. I am the administrator for Ledbury Nursing Home and the Intermediate Care Unit. I commenced working for the company in May 2023 as a support worker on Market Lodge before transferring to my administrator role. I can be found in the office on the second floor of the nursing home where my door is always open to staff, visitors and residents. I enjoy the the variety that comes with the role. As well as being at my desk, I like to be out on the floor speaking to the residents and families. At all times my focus is to promote the ethos of the company, making sure that everyone is well and happy. I always follow the moto of being ‘kinder than necessary' as I’m a guest in their home .

I quickly developed a passion for working with residents, always enjoying the daily interactions. I was promoted to Hotel Services Supervisor, managing the kitchen, domestic, and maintenance teams while ensuring person-centered care. In 2021, I took on the role of Facilities Manager at Ledbury Nursing Home, with Shaw’s support providing training for my growth. I now assist managers, staff, and external partners like Wye Valley Trust and doctors. I am also trained in fire safety, dementia awareness, and safer people handling. I love starting each day knowing I’m not just working with colleagues, but with an extended family, living by Shaw's values of wellness, happiness, and kindness. Working for one of the UK’s largest employee-owned companies makes me proud, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
