We’ve had a busy Month here at Ledbury Nursing home!
We’ve had two wonderful performances from the local primary school showing their Easter production, which was out of this world! Also Destiny at DBEATZ with her group of students who performed Street, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and acrobatic dances for our residents, residents commented on how talented they were! Lots of applause and wows!
Residents have been out and about in Ledbury checking out all of the Easter knitting on top of the post boxes, going to the sweet shop where memories were shared of a time residents reminisced going to the sweet shop in childhood “sweet memories”.
Easter Bingo went down a treat, prizes were won and what a lovely atmosphere it was, getting conversations going, all round lovely afternoon.
We've been making the most of the beautiful sunshine here at Ledbury Nursing Home, spending time in the garden planting flowers and doing a spot of weeding. Residents also enjoyed a delightful themed food day, featuring classic fish and chips, complete with mushy peas, tartar sauce, and a squeeze of lemon. We've had the chance to explore our local community in Ledbury, visiting the library, churches, and even doing a bit of birthday shopping.
This week, it was a full house at Bingo! Residents had a wonderful time playing Prize Bingo, with the help of two local primary school pupils, Hannah and Mollie. Some residents remarked, “Wow, that takes me back,” as they reminisced about their own bingo days. We’re all looking forward to our Easter Bingo event!
We’ve been keeping active here at Ledbury Nursing Home with our regular exercise classes. Tom from G-Fitness brings his music and movement sessions, which are lots of fun and feel more like a dance than a workout. The benefits are incredible! Rachel from Fit and Fab also leads a popular chair Zumba class, keeping everyone motivated and engaged. Additionally, we’ve been enjoying some in-house ball games, where residents can come together for a friendly game of ping pong – great for hand-eye coordination!
We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in true style here at Ledbury Nursing Home! The talented band Banjaxxed graced us with a phenomenal performance, filling the air with vibrant, upbeat tunes that had everyone tapping their feet and clapping along. Our residents joined in the fun by playing along with the musical instruments, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere.
Meanwhile, our Kitchen team baked up some delicious cupcakes, and a pint of Guinness was enjoyed alongside a hearty lunch. It was a day full of music, laughter, and great memories!
Valentine’s Day at Ledbury Nursing Home was nothing short of fantastic! We kicked off the festivities with card making and were treated to a wonderful performance by Darryl, who serenaded us with love songs from the '40s, '50s, and '60s. The morning was filled with laughter, singalongs, and even a bit of dancing as we reminisced about the past.
Our lunch tables were beautifully set in Valentine’s Day colors, adorned with roses, and we enjoyed a glass of sherry along with delicious after-dinner chocolates and Valentine’s cupcakes made by our amazing kitchen team. In the afternoon, we created stunning flower arrangements, adding to the day’s charm. It was a day filled with love, warmth, and cherished moments shared by both staff and residents at Ledbury Nursing Home.
It's been a lively week here at Ledbury Nursing Home! Our residents have enjoyed getting out and about in the local community, with a bit of shopping and a visit to the local primary school for a St. Michael's Hospice coffee morning. Michelle also brought in Summer, our beloved therapy dog, for some heartwarming visits. Summer always brings joy to our residents, sparking smiles and sparking lovely conversations as we gather in the lounges.
We’ve also celebrated National Hot Chocolate Day, with both staff and residents indulging in hot chocolate topped with cream and marshmallows. One of our residents had a birthday this week, and our amazing kitchen team whipped up a truly show-stopping cake to mark the occasion! Rachel from "Fit and Fab" joined us for a popular chair Zumba session, and we’ve enjoyed relaxing afternoons of art, with residents exploring their creativity with watercolors, pastels, and pencil crayons. It’s been a wonderful week filled with smiles, laughter, and special moments!
This afternoon at Ledbury Nursing Home was spent enjoying a delightful flower arranging session, one of our absolute favourite activities. Our residents remarked on how wonderful the flowers smelled, and many shared how the fragrance brought back memories of springtime in the garden. As the days grow longer and spring approaches, we’re excited to spend more time outdoors in the sunshine, planting and tending to our garden.
The team in Ledbury Nursing Home experienced the Empathy Suit training delivered by Paul Digby from the Training Department. They found it very helpful in understanding the needs of personal Centred approach when working with induvial residents.
We had a busy day here at Ledbury Nursing Home celebrating the New Year!
We started with music in the morning having singalongs with Darryl and then our residents enjoyed a tasteful afternoon with cheese and biscuits followed by a glass of wine.
It was such fun and laughter, our lovely staff putting smiles on our residents faces with music, dancing and a good old chit chat! What a way to end the year 2024, looking forward to what 2025 will bring us here at Ledbury Nursing Home. Lots planned and to look forward to.

The Reindeers from Angels Animal Ark came to visit Ledbury Nursing Home on Christmas Eve. This was a real treat as many of our residents haven’t seen a reindeer before and were very excited for their visit. Everyone got to see them up close and fuss them as they were so kind and gentle. It was lovely to see residents families in too, sharing the experience with their loved ones. Thankyou Angels Animal Ark for bringing happiness to our home this Christmas!
Our Residents at Ledbury Nursing Home had the pleasure of having the entertainer Simon Partridge in, who sang us some classic songs from the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. Prosecco and luxury platters were served.
A very enjoyable evening for family members and residents. Thank you Simon we will definitely be booking you again! Relaxing jazz!
Summer our PAT dog always puts a smile on everyone’s face when she comes to visit us here at Ledbury Nursing Home. Our Residents love to see Michelle, summers owner as she really gives our residents her
time they enjoy having a chat and a cuppa gathering in the lounge. We then go on to room visits. Summer is so kind gentle and really gives us her love when she comes our residents feel comforted as most of
them had dogs in the past. It often brings up conversations of pets and reminiscing about good times. Michelle was so kind to bring us a Christmas present a Pets as therapy 2025 calendar which we will proudly
display in our home. Thankyou Michelle and Summer!
Thankyou to the lovely Rachel at Fit and fab who comes to us twice a month to put on a chair Zumba class for our residents who thoroughly enjoy it. Staying active and to encourage movement are all important
for our health.
The Ledbury Choral Society were kind to come in to our home this week and sing carols for our residents, they went from room to room singing in the corridors and gathering in the lounges. Lifting our spirits and
spreading Christmas cheer all through out our home. Their voices were beautiful! Afterwards tea and mince pies were served in the lounge and a chance for our residents to have a chat with the singers and the
vicar Nicky Seabright.
The Ledbury Primary School Visited us yesterday, Charlotte Slocombe and her year 2 pupils were so kind to share their nativity songs with us.
They brought joy to our home uplifting our residents and having a positive impact on everyone!

We have enjoyed getting creative making wreaths this week, lots of memories of Christmas with the smells of oranges, cinnamon and fern leaves.
It has been a popular activity in our home and has brought Joy to all that have made one. Our residents are so kind, they even made one for a lady that wasn’t able to come.
Its beginning to look and feel like Christmas here at Ledbury Nursing Home, all of the trees are up.
Residents have enjoyed card making and sending them to their families. We’ve also had a nail pamper sessions which was very popular in Christmas colours. Lots more planned to look forward to.
Ledbury Nursing Home residents enjoyed a trip out to The Three Shires Garden centre on the weekend. The rain didn’t stop us, everyone’s spirits were high.
We saw all of the Christmas lights, trees and decorations. We had a good look around seeing all the wonderful gifts it had to offer. We even took a look around the aquatics, residents enjoyed seeing the stingray like fish our 105 year old thought they were marvellous!
Nice way to spend a Saturday morning.

We have such a busy week here at Ledbury Nursing Home, our residents have enjoyed a comedy magic show and have enjoyed a wonderful violin performance from the lovely talented Shelia.
To mark Remembrance Day here at Ledbury Nursing Home we have had a remembrance service with the vicar Nicky Seabright. It was lovely to see our residents came together and what a special service it was. We also had war time songs with Colette which residents enjoyed a singalong to, it was an enjoyable afternoon for all. Sophie a student from John Masefield High School took it upon her self to crochet our home 19 beautiful poppies which we added to our remembrance display the comments were remarkable! Thankyou Sophie. Our residents played a big part in the display by painting poppies with water colours which looked absolutely amazing! Yesterday we had a movie afternoon, the movie was selected by our residents. The film shown on the big screen was The Great Escape.
Here at Ledbury Nursing home we have been busy collecting for The Ledbury Food bank, which has been dispatched to them this morning. We had a Harvest donation point in our home where everyone was able to donate if they wish. We are pleased that we have been able to collect so much and support our local community.

Here at Ledbury Nursing Home this week we have been busy preparing for Halloween. As Flower arranging is so popular in our home we decided to do a Halloween coloured flower arranging theme. We also decorated our memory tree which looks awesome. What a lovely afternoon enjoyed by all.
We celebrated Harvest here at Ledbury Nursing Home this week, Nicky Seabright the vicar came and did a special harvest Communion which was very popular here.
Residents gathered round together, everyone said prayers and sang hymns. One of our residents Ann was keen on doing a reading from the bible and sharing it with everyone.
We have also been a drop off point for Ledbury food bank. Our staff and relatives have kindly donated items and we will be despatching it to them very soon. Enjoyable afternoon for all.
The residents of Ledbury Nursing Home had a surprise visit yesterday from pets for therapy, Odin the pony and Sky the dog. The visit was a great success, they went around the rooms putting smiles on our residents faces. One of our residents Pat didn’t want them to leave! We will definitely be arranging another visit!
This week at Ledbury Nursing Home the local school children came to see us, they kindly shared what they have been doing for harvest by sharing stories and singing our residents songs.
They really did bring joy to our home!
We have been busy making our harvest display and are supporting our local food bank by being a collection point for food donations.
We celebrated The Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning here at Ledbury Nursing Home last week.
Lots of exciting things went on from music entertainment to dancing and eating a lot of cake!
We had a prize hamper which was kindly donated to us from Tesco and The Co-Op. Even one of our residents who’s passion is to dance took centre stage with our manager and danced the morning away.
What a lovely morning we all had! Enjoyed by all the residents and all of the team at Ledbury Nursing Home.

Our residents at Ledbury Nursing Home have enjoyed an afternoon of flower arranging kindly donated by The Farm Patch Ledbury. Our Activities lady freshly picked the flowers in the morning and by afternoon lovely arrangements were made.

Residents at Ledbury Nursing Home enjoyed a pamper party for National Happiness Day on Thursday 8th August.
They had warm bubbly foot baths, followed by a foot rub, listening to soothing relaxing music. A glass of chilled sparking fizz went down a treat with chocolates and fudge.
Everyone was left feeling relaxed and happy!
Residents at Ledbury Nursing Home enjoyed a lovely trip out to Hampton Court Castle and Gardens on Saturday 29th of June.
We had a picnic in the gardens and then tea and cake in café. Everone enjoyed the trip out.
Today we celebrated our long serving team members from Ledbury Nursing home, Ledbury ICU and Market Lodge. All together there was a combined total of 110 years. It was a lovely afternoon with some fab entertainment from Fuzzy Uncertainty.
Thank you to everybody that came a long to join in with the fun.
It’s been fun and games in August at Ledbury Nursing Home! We have enjoyed the sun in the garden and flower arranging. Residents have taken part in some painting and we even had a visit from our little pony’s.
We have received a 5 star award for Ledbury kitchen from the Food Safety and Hygiene. Well done Lisa and the team!

A Ledbury resident with a storied international life – which included fleeing the Suez Crisis - has celebrated her 100th birthday.
A former actress and ballet dancer from Ledbury has celebrated her 101st birthday at Ledbury Nursing Home.
