Residents were delighted to welcome Sir Michael Palin to Wellesley Road on 18th January for an afternoon of socialising, tea, cake and celebrating Frank’s 102nd birthday.
A special thank you must be awarded to Claire Hills, Activities Champion for organising the visit. Her considerate planning of the visit for the benefit of the residents is greatly appreciated by everyone who had such an enjoyable afternoon.
Sir Michael spent the afternoon interacting with all the residents, answering questions that they had regarding his varied and interesting career in comedy, film, TV and travel. What made the afternoon more special was his interest in the residents and engaging in conversations about their backgrounds, careers, and lives.
The afternoon was rounded off with a celebratory sing song to celebrate Frank’s 102nd birthday in the company of his family.
Many thanks to Sir Michael for taking time out of his busy schedule to lift everyone’s spirits and making a such a memorable afternoon.
