A Powys care home worker has been recognised for their outstanding contribution during the past year at the annual Shaw Star Awards 2022.
The 13th Shaw healthcare national awards ceremony took place at The Tortworth Court Hotel in Gloucestershire on Thursday 24 November and was hosted by Paul Sinha, best known for his regular appearances on ITV’s ‘The Chase’.
Rebecca Lloyd, activity champion at Trenewydd near Brecon which is operated on behalf of Powys County Council, won the ‘Wellness/Happiness/Kindness’ award after being nominated by her colleagues and residents’ family members. This award – sponsored by Itec - is given to a staff member who has spread joy and happiness as they strive to improve the overall wellbeing of residents.
Ms Lloyd said: “I take great pride in putting Shaw’s ethos of wellness, happiness and kindness at the heart of all that I do - so to be recognised with this award is fantastic.”
Ms Lloyd was one of seven award winners who were recognised at the event, which aims to celebrate the achievements of outstanding staff members across Shaw’s 60 UK facilities.

As part of the event, the guests were treated to music from three-piece band AudioJaxx.
