What a brilliant day – great atmosphere, great company and smiles all round!

We’re so proud to share that Mary and the team at The Hawthorns collected an amazing 45 selection boxes for Wallace House Community centre’s Santa’s Grotto!

Everyone’s kindness and generosity helped bring so many smiles to children’s faces this Christmas.

At The Hawthorns we’ve been filled with Christmas spirit throughout December as Pershore Town Choir visited us to sing a wonderful selection of festive carols – a truly heart warming morning enjoyed by all! 

Musical Moments brought us a Christmas special with much laughter, so many smiles, and plenty of festive joy shared together.

Golden age jazz with a festive sparkle, bringing toe-tapping tunes and big smiles all around.

Residents from The Hawthorns had a fantastic time setting up a beautiful Christmas tree to represent Shaw Healthcare at this years Christmas Tree Festival at St Lawrence’s Church, Evesham. 

We’d love for you to come along and see it; everyone is welcome and entry is completely free.

There’s plenty to enjoy, with lots of colourful Christmassy displays guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit.

Pop in, have a wander and soak up the magic! 

Our residents have also been getting creative making their own beautiful Christmas centrepieces full of colour, sparkle, and festive cheer! 

John and Neil also enjoyed a lovely trip to the garden centre to see the singing penguins! There was lots of smiles and laughter as the penguins performed their cheerful tunes, a perfect way to kick off the Christmas season

Our lovely residents at The hawthorns have been busy getting into the Christmas spirit and have made some magical reindeer food, complete with lots of glitter and festive music to keep the creativity flowing!

The staff and residents have gifted some to the little ones in their families and we’ve still got a whole basket full ready to share. If you’d like to sprinkle a little Christmas magic this year, please feel free to pop in and take a bag!

What a Spooktacular day at The Hawthorns! 

The children came to visit our residents to show off their scary costumes and spread some Halloween cheer throughout the home. It was heart warming to see everyone enjoying the spooky fun together!

We had apple bobbing, pumpkin carving & we created some scary monsters!

The Hawthorns is spreading some Christmas cheer this year by becoming a community drop-off point for chocolate selection boxes, which will be donated to Wallace House Community Centre’s Santa’s Grotto.

We had such an incredible time this morning raising awareness and funds for an important cause! Thanks to everyone who came out to support us!

We’ve raised £103.07 so far, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone’s generosity. Every penny counts and is a step closer to making a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

A huge thank you to Julie, who joined us and brought the most wonderful Caribbean vibes with her incredible steel pan music. It added a unique and lively touch to our event!

We were also honoured to be joined by the Mayor John Clatworthy and Mayoress Marion Griffiths, who took the time to come and support this fantastic cause!

Residents enjoyed a heartwarming session with the wonderful Anna, singing along to their favourite classics. The power of music never fails to bring joy, spark memories, and lift everyone’s spirits!

Musical Moments – Halloween Edition:

We also had a spooktacular time during our Halloween-themed Musical Moments session! With fun dance moves, themed tunes, and lots of laughter, the energy in the room.

One of our lovely residents got into the Halloween spirit, dressing up for a themed day at the weekly day service she attends – and didn’t she look fantastic!

Congratulations to Steve on successfully passing his Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker qualification!

Our residents at The Hawthorns had a great day out at Cadbury World! Lots of laughs, sweet treats, and chocolatey fun all around. 🍫

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to welcome back our wonderful manager Mary, she has been missed by all and it’s great to have her back! 

We had a lovely time celebrating with plenty of fizz, delicious cupcakes, and some David Bowie tunes... for anyone who knows Mary will know she’s a big fan.

Also we were happy to announce our Employee of the Month Richard, thank you for your hard work, positive attitude and everything you do for the team - well deserved!

The residents at The Hawthorns had a lovely day out to Weston-super-mare, enjoying peaceful walks, the sea view and fish and chips for lunch. The perfect seaside treat!

Residents at The Hawthorns enjoyed a sunny stroll into town, soaking up the lovely weather and treating themselves to some biscuits and cake along the way! 

To honour National Alzheimer’s Day, residents and the team at The Hawthorns wore purple and created handmade purple ribbon pins to raise awareness and show support for those affected by Alzheimer’s.

The team at The Hawthorns recently completed a fire safety training program to enhance preparedness and ensure the safety of all residents and staff.

The training covered fire prevention strategies, evacuation procedures, and the correct use of fire extinguishers.

With this training completed, The Hawthorns continue to prioritise safety and maintain a secure environment for everyone on-site.

Catherine from Musical Moments visited The Hawthorns this week to engage residents in uplifting and interactive musical activities through singing, rhythm games, and live music. It was a really fun experience for everyone and we are looking forward to our next visit!

Residents, relatives, staff and neighbours came together for a joyful garden party filled with sunshine and laughter. We had live music, a BBQ and a special visit from a friendly pony called Rex, which brought smiles and excitement to everyone.

Residents at The Hawthorns Nursing Home have had a great time listening to a range of live music over the past month. Listening to live music offers numerous benefits for our residents including cognitive function, reduced stress, improved mood and social interaction.

Residents at The Hawthorns Nursing home have been busy doing some gardening over the past week while enjoying some sun. Residents planted dahlia’s, pansies, carnations and much more!

Residents from The Hawthorns went to a VE Day celebration at the town hall to mark the 80th anniversary.

They listened to the proclamation in the market square before heading to the town hall for tea, coffee, cake & memories of war time display.

Today Olive has celebrated her birthday surrounded by her family and as requested a lemon sponge cake to enjoy with a cup of tea!

We had a truly special day at The Hawthorns as we celebrated our incredible team during our Staff Appreciation Day! 

We were honoured to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Evesham, Cllr Robbie Raphael and Cllr Marion Griffith, who joined us in recognising the hard work and dedication of our wonderful employees. Each member of staff was presented with a certificate of appreciation and a special gift as a small token of our gratitude for everything they do.

The day also marked the official opening of our brand new coffee bar, a lovely new space for residents, visitors and staff to enjoy!

We're also excited to announce that we now have a meeting room available for local charities and businesses to book – another step in building strong community connections right here at The Hawthorns.

A fabulous day today celebrating our 20th Anniversary. We had an amazing cake, enjoyed by everyone.

We also celebrated our long service and staff appreciation awards, well done everybody!

A care home in Evesham that supports almost 50 people with dementia or acquired brain injuries has been shortlisted in three separate categories at this year’s National Care Awards.

Service Manager Mary from the Hawthorns, has kindly shared her tips on how you and your teams can achieve the coveted "Outstanding" rating that the Hawthorns proudly have.

The Hawthorns celebrated their coveted “Outstanding” CQC status in style with an esteemed set of well-wishers who share their pride in the service.

The Hawthorns care home in Evesham has received a much sought-after ‘outstanding’ rating by the CQC, the highest grade awarded by the independent regulator.

The Hawthorns has double the reason to celebrate after its manager won a prestigious award shortly after it marked its 15th anniversary.
