Orchard Place (at Leadon Bank)

The staff at Orchard Place set our residents a challenge.

This was achieved by having a “show and tell” evening where the staff brought in crafts that they have made or family crafts. Then challenged the residents to make their own crafts. Our residents were up for it!

They started with painting dream catchers, and then, with more confidence, they made clay pots. Once the pots had set they painted them. The grand finale was to make their own sugar roses.

The team at Orchard Place have been creating different restaurant experiences, such as Chinese, Italian and Spanish. Along with the food, the experience involves the country’s traditional music, followed by a quiz relevant to the country.

These photos are of an Indian themed evening. Staff dressed the table with a beautiful sari, the residents thoroughly enjoyed the spicy food, and the evening involved some Indian dancing.

Orchard Place presented a Victorian/Edwardian clothes evening. Some of the Items on display were: children’s christening gowns and dress, ladies cape, blouse, night dress, hat pins and a pair of ladies boots.

Else’s lifetime hobby has been sewing and she took delight in inspecting the workmanship and modelled several items. In the picture she is modelling a parasol.
