Support WorkerEmployed by Shaw at the age of 17, Hannah started her career with Shaw as a Support Worker at Hillside Lodge supporting residents, including those with dementia.

Admin & Team LeaderOther roles Hannah has carried out at the home are administrator and team leader. It was whilst she was carrying out the admin role she saw a different side to the care home and set her sights on a management role.

Deputy ManagerWith encouragement from her colleagues and management, Hannah went for the Deputy Manager role and was successful.

QualificationsHannah has many qualifications under her belt including level 2 and 3 diploma in Health and Social care, Awareness of Dementia, level 2 and also a diploma in Customer Services.

Hannah SaysHannah says: “Each role within a care home comes with its rewards. I have always wanted to care for people and I now enjoy helping and supporting those who are starting out on their career path as I did. Hillside are like my family and the support I have had means I have never doubted myself.”

Hannah's AdviceTo anyone considering filling out an application form for Shaw Hannah’s advice would be to ‘Go for it, as she knows there is so much opportunity for progression and if you are dedicated you can move up the ladder. There is such a variety of roles.”
