Abbott House

Today we celebrated the 15th Anniversary of Abbott House.

It has been such a lovely day, thanking our employees and celebrating the home with residents, families and the team.

Preparing for our 15th anniversary... this weekend we were able to make a poster with some decorations preping for our celebration in August!

Residents enjoying some strawberries and cream whilst watching the Wimbledon final!

This weekend with the sun out but the heat making it a bit difficult to sit outside for long... we enjoyed making  'sun catchers' which reflect the sunshine and we can hang in our windows. We sadly said goodbye to our three ducks who have moved onto to a local farm.  We have been following their journey since hatching them in March... and they have given us a lot of joy.

Residents thoroughly enjoyed a coffee and crafts morning, hosted by our wonderful two guests who work in our local library. They host crafts every other Thursday which is proving very popular with some of our residents! We also celebrated an 88th birthday, it was an afternoon filled with laughter and Marion's favourite songs. Happy birthday Marion!

The weather was so nice and now that spring is here, some of our residents took advantage of the warm spring sunshine and sat under the trees in blossom with some of our local students for company. They had a lovely afternoon!

We've recently welcomed some ducks to Abbott House! We love watching them grow.

It was one of our residents 94th birthday on Sunday and a member of staff took her to church. At the end of the service 120 people sang her happy birthday and then she was given a beautiful gift, all of her friends from Church had knitted a square for her and they had been assembled into a nice warm blanket as a gift!

We had a visit from Tiny Farm - One of the residents with a Bearded Dragon and a Guinea Pig! We also enjoyed a care home full of flowers this week as Waitrose kindly sent us flowers left over from Valentines Day.
