Maes y wennol
Residents at Maes-Y-Wennol had a lovely day Saturday for Llanidloes carnival.
Residents had the opportunity to go out to watch the carnival parade, they especially enjoyed a special song played by the band – sweet Caroline, we also had a special visit from this years carnival queen Cassia.
Our residents at Maes-Y-Wennol have been loving the Living Eggs experience!
They had the wonderful opportunity to watch the chicks hatch and are delighted that the hens will now stay with us, enjoying free-range life on our lawn.
We also celebrated Father's Day with a fantastic summer BBQ, where residents were joined by their families for a fun-filled afternoon of great food, laughter, and special memories.
Maes-y-Wennol had some very special visitors last week, two adorable alpacas!
Seraphina and Annie spent time with each resident, offering one-on-one cuddles and lots of fuss. Along the way, we also discovered some fascinating facts about these charming animals.
Residents at Maes-Y-Wennol have had a busy week welcoming and releasing some animals.
Firstly we had Emma’s Donkeys pay us a visit with the lovely Trevor and Sally the donkeys. Each resident had the opportunity to fuss & brush the donkeys, as well as learn some interesting facts.
We then had a visit from 5 beautiful 7-week-old cockapoo puppies which residents got the chance to fuss and hold if they wished.
Lastly the residents also gathered in the garden to release the painted lady butterflies we have reared from caterpillars, into chrysalis then into butterflies. Watching the life cycle as they grow and change!
Residents at Maes-y-Wennol enjoyed a lovely visit from local preschool Croco-Doco-Dile. The children spent time reading stories, sharing biscuits and drinks, and singing a selection of nursery rhymes, a really nice afternoon for everyone involved.
We also celebrated Myfanwy’s 94th birthday last Saturday. She marked the occasion with a homemade birthday cake, a singalong of Happy Birthday, and a sherry during pub evening, a great way to celebrate.
