Wood House have been very fortunate to receive regular visits from a Music and Sound Therapist, Stephen.

Since the therapy has began at Wood House positive results have clearly been shown. The service users attend regular, weekly sessions which are on a one to one basis, or within a group.  The classes comprise all aspects of music and sound therapy.

Music and Sound Therapy has been well known for its healing remedies, this is dated back to ancient Greece.  It is popular to boost murale and to help people to work faster as well as it's health benefits to boost the immunue system and to lower stress levels.  Music therapy involves three important activities: playing music, singing or listening to music.  Individuals during the session are able to explore as well as express their emotions to help with environments.  Research has identified that music and sound has shown consistent benefits to our health and wellbeing.

Not only has the practitioner co-ordinates the music and sound classes, he also provides training sessions and posters of the work he has completed.

The therapist has done an amazing job with the service users.  The Service Manager, Jacqueline Ryan, can not praise the therapist enough.

Since he has visited Wood House the service users have made tremendous progress with their communication and interaction.  This is shown in the progress reports provided by Stephen, as well as the videos he has made and shared with the service users and staff team.
