Waverely House care home in Leominster has celebrated 15 years of delivering care

The home located on Etnam Street, marked the occasion on Tuesday 3rd May with a buffet lunch. Staff, residents and family members were joined by councillor Sebastian Bowen, chairman of Herefordshire County Council, and Russell Brown, CEO of Shaw healthcare – which operates the care home.

Various staff members in the home were also commended for their long service, including Mandy Hartshorn, a support worker who joined Shaw 29 years ago, domestic assistant Janet Hicks, who has worked for Shaw for 26 years, catering assistant Elizabeth Ferguson (23 years), and Julie Buck, who marked her 20th anniversary.

Service manager, Allan Riley, said: “The team here work tirelessly to provide the highest standard of care for our residents, so it is important to take a moment to step back and reflect on their achievements.

“These last two years have been the most challenging and how we got through it is testament to the wonderful staff here.”
