Shaw are delighted to announce that they have been recognised with an award for support shown to employees with their learning and development

Kieren Logan-Gallenn, Head of Learning and Development, Martin Vanhinsbergh, Regional Director for Shaw healthcare were presented with the ‘Principal’s Special Recognition Award’ for their outstanding support given to learners during these difficult times.

Due to ongoing restrictions, the award was presented virtually via video call by Mike Gaston, Principal and CEO of HSDC (Havant and South Down College), who provide the apprenticeship programme for Shaw’s services in West Sussex and the South Coast.

Kieran said, “Our colleagues are having to work longer and harder than ever before to meet the needs of the people we support in our services.  This award is testament to the hard work our service managers face in these particularly challenging times and I would like to congratulate our colleagues who have persevered through their learning and development and to everyone supporting them through their learning.”

Shaw healthcare works in partnership with Apprenticeship providers to ensure all colleagues can be developed into their role, whatever their role in the organisation.  The qualification lasts around 12 to 18 months and requires full support from the Service Manager and their team to ensure learners are supported through mentorship and are given opportunities to learn and reflect on their practice.

Shaw currently have 33 colleagues across the West Sussex region completing their Level 2, 3, 4 and 5 Apprenticeship Qualifications.
