We have enjoyed a wonderful week at Ledbury Nursing Home filled with music, laughter and some truly memorable activities.

Our Country and Western Day was a highlight, with staff and residents dressing up in cowboy hats and handkerchiefs to join in the fun. The brilliant Helen treated us to a country set specially tailored to our residents’ favourite songs, which had everyone singing and dancing along. At lunchtime we tucked into traditional fish and chips from the local chip shop, always a popular request. One resident, Jack, commented that it was “the biggest and tastiest fish I’ve had!”

We also welcomed Tony and Hazel from Reptomania, who brought an extraordinary collection of reptiles and insects to share with residents at both Ledbury Nursing Home and Market Lodge. There were snakes, chameleons, spiders, millipedes, cockroaches and even scorpions. Residents not only had the chance to hold and handle the animals, but also learnt fascinating facts about each one. Jessie said how therapeutic it was to sit with a snake on her lap, describing its skin as soft and smooth. It was an unforgettable experience and we are so grateful to Tony and Hazel for their visit.

To round off the week, we enjoyed a lively morning in the garden with a Music Tombola and cake sale, joined by residents, families and friends. We were delighted to welcome Mollie Goddard, Ledbury Town Child Ambassador, along with her friend from Ledbury Primary School, who both helped with the Tombola. Thanks to everyone’s generosity we raised £75.50 towards our activities fund.

It has been a week of fun, laughter and shared memories, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make it so special.
