Leadon Bank Extra Care

Yesterday was a truly memorable day at Leadon Bank as we came together to honour our long-serving staff members and celebrate some well-deserved Star Award nominations. In total, we recognised an impressive 95 years of dedicated service.

Everyone enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea, beautifully prepared for our residents, staff, and their families, followed by entertainment from the talented Devi Hall. We were also honoured to have Liz Harvey, Deputy Mayor of Ledbury, join us for the occasion.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came and shared in this special celebration!

Members of Leadon Bank day Centre and Extra Care Flats were treated to a wonderful performance from 19 year old Jodie Lauren - who despite her young age, has an amazing voice. She started as a busker on the streets in Worcester, and after singing "Hopelessly devoted to you" there was not a dry eye in the house.

Members of Leadon Bank Day Centre have produced a lovely fusion of Narnia meets Bethlehem, with a Winter Wonderland theme! The snow capped trees and glistening white tinsel adorn our handcart to produce a festive display, with Baby Jesus nestling in the crib, surrounded by the traditional nativity figures. Merry Christmas!

Members of Leadon Bank Day Centre having been busy creating and crafting making things to sell on their German Christmas market stall - ranging from potted plants, decorated wreaths, light up jars, festive sweets, and wall hangings! And of course the traditional decorated Santa Hats!

Members of Leadon Bank Day Centre created a WW1 display for Remembrance Day.

Members of Leadon Bank recently celebrated Halloween with a “Body Shop” themed display – literally! We made hands using plaster of Paris and rubber gloves; eyes from ping pong balls and buttons; noses and ears from salt dough and even boiled eggs as internal organs! We then did the customary pumpkin carving, apple bobbing with a twist, and a “Trick or Treat” hands IN experience!

Members of Leadon Bank Day Centre celebrated Diwali last week, by making some of their own Diya lanterns. they used plaster of pairs and cupcases to make a very pretty version of the “earthen lamp” and of course plenty of glitter! A truly sparkly Festival of Lights.

Members of Leadon Bank Day Centre have been celebrating Black History Month this week, through participation in a range of expressive arts. We had Music and Dance, movies, painting and the written word! Thanks to year 2 Welford Road Primary School who kindly composed a playlist of songs from black artists throughout the decades, from the 50’s to the present day, we even had a bit of Stormzy! All week, we recognised many of the amazing artists of Black origin. Our finale was the rendition of Talking Turkeys, by Benjamin Zephaniah, one of his great poems.

Congratulations to the staff at Leadon Bank who have been celebrating their employee milestone at the service.
