Trenewydd Care Home in Brecon is celebrating after receiving an outstanding inspection report from Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).
Following a visit in November, the home achieved ‘Excellent’ ratings across all four areas assessed: wellbeing, care and support, environment and leadership, and management.
Inspectors praised Trenewydd for providing residents with “enriched and fulfilled lives,” supported by dedicated staff delivering highly personalised care. The home’s varied activity programme, including animal visits, choirs and intergenerational school projects, was highlighted, alongside a warm, clean and comfortable environment and well-maintained gardens that promote independence.
Leadership was described as approachable and highly effective, with strong safeguarding practices, excellent communication with families and a robust electronic medication system also commended.
Service Manager Richard Shepherd said the report reflects the passion, energy and genuine care shown by the team every day.
Well done to everyone at the home for making it such a wonderful place to live and work.
