Surehaven Glasgow, a low secure mental health hospital in Drumchapel, is proudly celebrating its 15th anniversary — a major milestone in delivering compassionate, specialist care to individuals across the region.
This anniversary also coincides with the Regional Star Awards for Scotland — a moment of pride for the Surehaven team as they reflect on 15 years of hard work, dedication, and achievements.
Several long-serving staff members were formally recognised on the day, in appreciation of their outstanding commitment to both patient care and the organisation.
Martin Cassidy, Hospital Manager at Surehaven Glasgow, said:“Today is a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come as a service. For 15 years, our team has worked with care, professionalism, and a deep sense of purpose to support individuals on their recovery journeys. It’s a privilege to mark this milestone with colleagues, some of whom have been with us since the early days. The recognition through the Regional Star Awards is a testament to the incredible work being done here in Glasgow every day.”
The day’s celebrations included staff recognition awards, refreshments, and an opportunity for everyone to celebrate their shared commitment to delivering recovery-focused mental health services.
It was also an opportunity for Russell Brown, CEO of Shaw healthcare, along with members of the head office team from Cardiff, to tour the hospital’s new 12-bed extension, which is currently under construction and due to open spring 2026.
Russell commented: “Reaching 15 years is a remarkable achievement for Surehaven and a credit to the staff’s dedication and expertise. It’s fantastic to see the development of the new extension, which will help us continue providing first-class care for years to come.”
