A team consisting of various Shaw healthcare employees from around Sycamore Lodge, Petersfield, Springbank, Wood House and Shaw Head Office in Cardiff assembled on Sandy Beach, Weston-Super-Mare today to help make it a cleaner and safer place for its visitors but also to raise awareness around Mental Health.

Well done to Jayne Harrison, HR Business Partner, who raised the idea, liaised with North Somerset Council and organised for everyone to meet on the beautiful beach.

The groups were split up into pairs, provided with litter grabbers, bin bags and combed the beach; gathering various items such as boxer shorts, a knife and lots of waste litter and plastic. The beach was certainly safer for the visitors and looked very much cleaner after they left.

There was also a rare sighting of a Great White Shark, in the form of Kay Williams, Springbank manager who raised a smile of all who met the walking, litter-collecting shark while walking the beach.
