Based in Barton-under-Needwood, Barton Health and Community Centre works closely with East Staffs Clinical Commissioning Group.
In 2007, it replaced the much loved but outdated Barton Collage Hospital and the Barton GP surgery. Barton Health provides short stay inpatient beds for both intermediate and palliative care, as well as a small respite unit for younger individuals who are physically disabled. A range of experienced community health care staff are based at Barton Health, along with a modern GP Health Centre, complete with a suite of examination and consulting rooms. The Centre is operated in partnership with South Staffordshire Primary Care Trust.
Above the Health Centre is Shaw healthcare’s flagship Extra Care scheme, Barton Mews. Twenty-nine one and two bedroom apartments are available to sell to people over the age of fifty-five who require either health or personal care in order for them to remain living independently. Domiciliary care is also available from Shaw’s in house team.
