A few of the residents at Sandalwood Court care home in Corby feature in a short silent movie exploring responses of older residents, in Winchester and Corby, to original archive footage from their local area.

The Recycled Silent Movie Project formed part of Winchester Hat Fair's Celebrating Age Project - a two year programme of arts activity for, with, and about older people.

Held in Winchester, Hampshire, Hat Fair is the UK’s longest running festival of Outdoor Arts and over the last two years have been running the project to celebrate the stories of local residents, specifically those over 60.

The film, which features archive footage from Wessex Film and Sound Archive, Corby Borough Council Collections, was made in association with Hat Fair's artistic partner, Corby arts venue, The Core at Corby Cube, and residents from the town.

The Celebrating Age Project is funded by the Arts Council England and a Celebrating Age grant from the Baring Foundation, which funds projects.
