The challenges of life as a disabled person are many and varied, as disabilities can vary from person to person. One such challenge is satisfying a desire to have a job and earn your own money, but there are many others that should be considered.
On a more practical level, you may just need to make some adjustments to your home to allow you to continue to live independently, such as a stairlift or handrails. Financially, you may be entitled to extra funds to help you make these adjustments, or to help you pay for extra care that you might need. It’s worth contacting your local social services to find out whether you can get any help if you’re finding it a struggle to cope with your current arrangements.
Research is a powerful tool that can help you overcome these challenges, by finding out what you’re entitled to and what can be done to help you. You can also find support groups and get in touch with other people in a similar situation and learn from their experiences or ask for advice from professionals.
