We’ve had an extra special week at Figbury Lodge as we celebrate Dennis’s incredible 100th birthday! Born in 1925 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Dennis’s childhood was filled with adventure, riding bikes with friends on his grandparents' land and playing in the barn. He was always the most popular one with the best place to hang out!

Dennis trained as a car mechanic before joining the RAF, where he was posted in Egypt and even played on the water polo team. After returning, he married and had a son, Mike. They spent many happy years together, enjoying surfing and beach holidays. Dennis then went on to work for CNC Plastics in New Milton, where he was promoted to Manager and stayed until his retirement.

Even in retirement, Dennis stayed active, enjoying daily push-ups, swimming, and surfing. He loved spending time outdoors in the forest and gardening, and shared his life with his second wife, Delle.

This week has also been filled with fun activities at Figbury Lodge. Residents enjoyed an Alice in Wonderland-themed cake-making session, which brought plenty of joy and delicious results. We also had a visit from local childminders, and it was wonderful to see so many happy, smiling faces. To top it all off, our Spa Day was a big hit, leaving everyone feeling relaxed and pampered.

It’s been a week of celebrations, creativity, and connection — here's to many more moments like these at Figbury!
