Figbury Lodge residents have been having lots of fun recently...
It started with a school visit and our residents would like to say a huge thankyou to Canford Heath Junior School students, for inviting our residents to your school for afternoon tea. It was delicious. Next time you can visit us at Figbury Lodge!
We enjoyed some music and movement as we recognised Mental Health Awareness week this week. Chair exercises is a inclusive activity that anyone can benefit from. Not only is exercise good for physical health, but for mental health to!
The residents were all shook up when Elvis entered the building!
We have also enjoyed stimulating our brains this week. Puzzle afternoon is a very serious business at Figbury Lodge, as you can see the concentration on our residents faces.
African Day came around and we are lucky to have lots of wonderful new staff who come from all over Africa. The residents and staff wanted to make them feel welcome and wanted to learn more about their cultures. Residents were busy making decorations. Our new team members showed us on a map where they were from, they told us about the foods, traditions and clothes they wear. The best they saved for last, by preforming a gospel choir song, it was absolutely beautiful. Thankyou!
Coronation celebrations didnt go amiss... our residents celebrated in style for our Kings Coronation, with an indoor cinema, traditional cream tea and fantastic Kelly singing wonderful classic songs. Perfect!
