Supported living
Our accommodation based support services support vulnerable people to take up tenancies in individual flats within a dedicated scheme or within shared houses. The benefit of this over isolated properties is that 24 hour on-site support is achievable as the cost of this intensive support is shared between a number of people and it also offers the opportunity for tenants to develop confidence and skills within the supportive environment of a peer group.
What supported living is:
- An individualised step down option for people moving on from a registered setting
- An opportunity for people to hold their own tenancy
- An opportunity to build relationships /coping skills with co-tenants
- An opportunity to develop confidence and self esteem within a supportive environment
- To have an individualised package of support rather than 24hr registered care
- The ability to change provider without having to move house
- The flexibility for support to increase /decrease in line with need
- Registered domiciliary care for incidental personal care needs
What it is not:
- Registered care
- A fixed service with a rigid staffing structure
