Nursing home care

Our Care homes with nursing provide both long and short term respite nursing and personal care for older people with physical disabilities brought on through injury, illness or the aging process. Many homes also offer dementia care under the supervision of mental health nurses.

These care homes are chosen by those who for various reasons are unable to live independently or who require more care than can be provided by carers, friends or family.

Many Shaw nursing homes are purpose designed and built with a range of spacious, bright facilities for dining and socialising.

The homes provide not only homely accommodation, varied and interesting meals and individual approaches to support and personal care on a 24 hour basis but also a wide range of social activities. Services also include help with bathing, dressing and the administration of medication.

Residents receive first class care from friendly staff led by a professional nurse 24 hours a day and in their own private bedroom (often with en-suite shower room).

Every resident receives individual care and support with his or her psychological and physical needs. Social and spiritual needs met on an individual basis as far as possible. Staff encourage residents to be as involved as they are physically and mentally able, allowing them to choose the lifestyle they wish to follow, i.e. the choice of when to get up and go to bed, choice of meals, clothing etc. Skilled staff, using an adaptable, flexible, friendly approach, aims to give residents individual autonomy, dignity, privacy, choice, fulfilment and independence.
