Sensory impairment

Shaw care homes provide support for people who through long term illness or trauma have hearing or sight problems and who find it difficult to do normal daily tasks as a result. Our aim is to help you retain your independence as long as possible and our staff will make practical suggestions on how to use equipment to help you with daily tasks that are proving difficult for you.

Our staff will seek advice and recommend ways to reduce difficulties you may have with reading, writing and hearing including giving you access to communication aids such as the talking book and cassette service.

We tailor social activity programmes to ensure that residents with sensory impairment are included and are not isolated by their conditions.
