Surehaven is a specialist subsidiary company of Shaw healthcare providing person centred care and treatment programmes for people with:

• A primary diagnosis of Mental Illness with or without Physical Disability including forensic patients.
• Personality Disorders
• Challenging behaviours
• Learning Disabilities such as:
  Autistic Spectrum Disorders
  Asperger’s Syndrome
• Organic Brain Disorders such as:
  Dementia
  Huntington’s Disease
  Korsakoff’s Syndrome
  Other Neuro-Psychiatric Disorders

Our purpose built 16-20 bed independent hospitals are for adults between the age of 18-65 who may be liable to be detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 or Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.  Each service delivers high quality accommodation and support for men and women in gender specific wards with ensuite facilities in all bedrooms.  Our hospitals are superbly designed to maximise communal and living space for patients as well as providing activity rooms for the facilitation of therapeutic programmes. 

Each ward has its own community lounge, dining room and quiet room as well as access to its own secure garden.
We have a first class multi disciplinary team to provide the highest quality support and treatment.  This includes a full time Consultant Psychiatrist, a full time Consultant Psychologist and Assistant Psychologist, a full time Occupational Therapist and a full time Activities Coordinator and Nursing staff all of whom are directly employed by Surehaven.
