A resident at Rotherlea Care home in Petworth was granted a wish when her name was pulled out of the “pick a wish” box.

78 year old Eileen Hedgecock’s dream came true when she was taken on a helicopter ride over Brighton pier and along the south coast. Eileen and two of her friends from Rotherlea, Mike Keen and Charlie Chase, were driven to a Shoreham airport to be greeted by pilot John Davies from Helifly.

Eileen said, “It was absolutely out of this world.  I have never been in a helicopter and always fancied it”.

The ride was followed by a trip to the sea front where they enjoyed a fish and chip lunch.

Sue Humphrey who works at the home as an Activities Co-ordinator said, “This is fantastic thing for the residents”.
