Over 500 local people came to support Thackley Greens Autumn fate on the afternoon of Saturday 26th November. The busy care centre owned and operated by Shaw healthcare in Oakley Hay, Corby offers respite and rehabilitation care to around 800 elderly people each year.
Deputy Mayor Cllr Mohammed Rahman was thrilled to come along and open the fete for the centre. In his opening speech he said he was thrilled to have been asked to attend, he thanked staff and relatives for their kind donations.
Young and old joined in the celebrations which carried on throughout the afternoon, many visitors were people who had previously used the services and had come back to say thank you. The Katrina school of dancing, a local theatre group offered a production of Santa & his Elf which was enjoyed by everyone.
In total the afternoon’s entertainment raised over £1535.86 all monies raised will be used to increase the activities throughout the festive season.
