Gorstyfield Specialist Care Home celebrated its annual summer garden party in August. The parties have become a firm favourite among residents, their families and friends and staff but have changed somewhat over the last twenty three years. Residents now decide the theme, design and print the invitations and also plan and cook the food. This year was buffet style finger food and a delicious home cooked curry with rice and naan bread. ‘Pimms on the patio’ was also served. As always the main attraction was the sweet trolley which had also been planned and cooked solely by Gorstyfield residents and didn’t take long to be devoured. The raffle raised £80 for the resident’s activity fund and most prizes were donated by local businesses. Although slightly wet the weather held out so that everyone could enjoy the music and lovely view from the patio. It was a fabulous day and a good time was had by all.
