Team Leader (Care Home)
What's Involved?
- Leading a shift of 4 - 10 people: Training and mentoring them to provide excellent care.
- Being responsible for overseeing the care and welfare of 10 - 15 residents and knowing each of them and their families.
- Being proficient and ensuring every member of your team is proficient in giving medication, in specialist care procedures, in monitoring diet, monitoring weight and fluid changes, noting and managing mood changes and managing behaviour changes.
- Overseeing the professional development of your staff team including giving all your team a monthly supervision.
- Setting an annual development and training plan with and for each of your team and helping them to achieve it.
Pay Rates
Depends upon experience, size and location of home and range of services offered in the home: A home may have 10 beds or 90 beds.
From £23,500 to £28,200 for nursing.
From £15,000 to £20,200 for non nursing.
Share Ownership

Qualifications
- On a nursing unit: RGN or RMN or RNLD where relevant.
- On a non nursing unit: RGN, RMN or CQSW is desirable but not essential.
- Hold or be willing to undertake an NVQ Level 3 and 4 in care.
