Staff Nurse - Secure Hospital
What's Involved?
- Being committed to working with people with severe mental health problems in a secure setting.
- Responsibility for carrying out comprehensive nursing assessments and producing individualised nursing care plans for named patients.
- Being a key member of a first class multi-disciplinary team.
- Maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice by the use of clinical examples and leadership skills'
- Supporting relatives, visitors and other members of staff who visiting the hospital.
Pay Rates
These depends upon experience, location and size of the hospital and range of services offered:

Qualifications
- Qualified Mental Health Nurse (RNMH)
- Previous experience of working in a locked/low secure setting would be advantageous
- Relevant specialist qualifications such as health and safety trainer, physical intervention trainer etc
Prospects
- Promotion to more senior nurse appointments within the unit or to another unit.
- Management training to move into deputy manager and hospital manager roles.
- Become a specialist trainer.
