Manager - Secure Hospital

What's Involved?

- Leading a team of between 20 - 60 staff which includes specialist mental health nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, special therapists, hotel, admin and catering staff.
- Managing a £1.5m pa - £3m pa turnover business.
- Developing excellent professional links with local consultant psychiatrists, community mental health teams, local commissioners and social services.
- Building a reputation for excellent treatment and care through demonstrating that patients can move from a low secure hospital to a more independent environment where appropriate.
- Building and maintaining excellent links with the local community and key decision makers.
- Visible leadership and direction for your team, ensuring that staff feel valued and committed to Surehaven ethos.

Pay Rates

These depend upon experience,size of the hospital and range of services offered: 

Share Ownership

All staff working for Shaw Group companies are offered the opportunity of becoming part owners of Shaw by acquiring shares in the company after a qualifying period.

Qualifications

The following are all desirable although not essential:
-  Preferably a management qualification at NVQ Level 4 or above or equivalent
- Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act Trained
- Relevant specialist qualifications such as Health and Safety, sales and marketing, budget management etc
- RMN, RGN or similar clinical qualification.

Prospects

- Becoming a regional manager with responsibility for more than one unit
- Manager of a larger hospital or one with more specialist facilities.
- Coordinating services across a region including care and support of patients who move into the community in supported living schemes from secure environments.
