Home Manager


What is involved


- Leading a team of between 20 - 100 staff.
- Managing an annual budget of £200,000 - £1 million.
- Knowing and caring for 20 - 100 residents and knowing and keeping contact with their families.
- Helping to build a happy and secure community of staff.
- Building a reputation for excellent care and making close links with the community in the area.
- Helping to create a therapeutic community of staff and residents committed to the improvement, development and greater independence of all.

Pay Rates

Depends upon experience, size and location of home and range of services offered in the home:  A home may have 10 beds or 90 beds.

Share Ownership

All staff working for Shaw Group companies are offered the opportunity of becoming part owners of Shaw by acquiring shares in the company after a qualifying period.

Qualifications

The following are desirable but not essential:
- Previous experience managing a smaller home or a unit within a larger home.
- RMN or RGN or CQSW.

Prospects

- Becoming manager of a larger home.
- Becoming manager of a specialist home (providing a range of specialist nursing or mental health care).
- Becoming an area manager (responsible for the leadership and direction of a 6 - 10 home managers).
