Catering

We believe that catering is a key element of the service we offer and ensure that mealtimes are not only an opportunity for our service users to enjoy well balanced, nutritious dishes but, equally importantly, are social occasions.

Our menus, which are changed regularly and reflect seasonality, offer a choice of meals that are cooked from fresh and that are based on standard recipes to ensure they are consistently prepared to the same high standards and that we can be assured of the nutritional values they deliver.

Our experienced catering teams are subject to ongoing training programmes and a process of continuing evaluation which ensures that they are able to provide for specific diets which may be driven by ethnic, cultural or clinical needs or simple preference.

Housekeeping

A clean, pleasant and well maintained environment is vital to the well-being of our service users and our dedicated teams work to ensure that we meet exacting standards. Our cleaning regime, which is documented and reviewed by senior managers from Shaw, is based on the latest standards published by the NPSA and is subject to ongoing review by Area and Regional Managers and our Hotel Services Manager.

Inherent within our cleaning programme however is respect for the privacy and dignity of our service users and all cleaning is carried out at a time and in a fashion that minimises disruption.

Laundry

Our in-house services ensure that all linen is laundered to high standards and that all personal items are returned in a timely manner, pressed and folded. Our professional machines and carefully selected detergents ensure that we can deal with such issues as MRSA and we continue to work with suppliers to try and minimise our impact on the environment by embracing new technology that allows us to wash safely at lower temperatures.
