Activities

The activities on offer at all of our homes are designed with you in mind.

Each home has full time activities staff who are on hand to organise your day to day activities and events. We believe strongly that your passions, interests and hobbies should be maintained and encouraged regardless of your age,  physical or emotional abilities. Residents choose which activities they would like to do and we do our best to accommodate their wishes.

Along with the basic activities such as pottery, crafts and table-top games there is also a host of alternative activities that you may not have tried before such as Tai Chi, yoga, falconry displays, gardening workshops, archery, dance classes, flower arranging, movie nights and singing to name but a few.

We believe that you should be welcomed not just into your chosen home but also into the local community. Many of the homes have established strong links with the local schools, social groups, drama associations and neighbours. We hold annual parties, carnivals, summer fetes and open days to encourage these links and to open our doors to our friends and families.

Many of our homes also have pets such as cats, fish, budgies, chickens and rabbits…..although you are not expected to help care for the animals they are always on hand for a pat and a cuddle.

Outings

The list of potential days out is inexhaustible. Quite simply, if there is somewhere you would like to go, we will do our best to take you there. Most of our homes have their very own mini-buses equipped with wheelchair lifts. Past trips have included trips to the sea side, picnics, garden centres, museums, canal boat rides, husky sledding and music concerts.

 Religious Observances

Homes have extended links with many different denominations locally and residents who wish to can take part in services or the celebration of religious festivals either in the local community or through a visiting representative of the appropriate faith or religion.
